Vitamin C Serum

$54.00

The brightening vitamin C serum that doesn't go orange.

Step 2 of your morning skincare routine. Vitamin C by day, vitamin A by night — they are a pair, not a choice.

Built on a stable form of vitamin C for a brighter, more even complexion — so it still works in week eight and does not punish you for keeping it on the bathroom shelf. Made in Australia with native botanicals including Kakadu plum, one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C in the world.

What's doing the work
  • Sodium ascorbyl phosphate — a stable form of vitamin C. This is the important bit, and it is why this brightening serum behaves differently from most of the ones you have bought before.
  • Kakadu plum — one of the highest known natural sources of vitamin C in any fruit. From the Top End.
  • Davidson plum — a deep purple rainforest fruit from northern New South Wales and Queensland, high in antioxidants.
  • Rosella (hibiscus) — in a hydrating base, so it does not sit on the skin.
  • Sodium hyaluronate and pro-vitamin B5 — the hydration half. A serum that only delivers actives and no water feels like nothing.
How to use it

A few drops on clean skin in the morning, before moisturiser and sunscreen. Let it settle for a moment before anything goes on top. It can be used at night as well, but if you are using the Night Vitamin A Serum, keep the two to their own ends of the day.

Before you buy

Most vitamin C serums use L-ascorbic acid. It is the most-studied form and it works — but it is chemically fragile. It reacts with light and air, browns over a few weeks, and once it is brown the vitamin C has largely converted to something that is not doing much. That is the most common complaint in this entire category, and it is why yours went orange.

The honest trade-off, because there is one: derivatives like ours are gentler and steadier, and the research base behind L-ascorbic acid is larger. If you want the most-studied molecule and you are happy to buy it fresh and use it fast, buy that instead — we would genuinely rather you got the right thing. If you want something that still works in week eight, this is it.

What to expect

Vitamin C is used for the appearance of brightness and a more even-looking tone. Give it eight to twelve weeks of consistent use before judging. A light tingle on application is common; a sting that lasts is not, and we wrote about what that means. No serum outperforms sun protection — this one sits under sunscreen, never instead of it.
