What's doing the work
- Aloe vera juice — the base of the whole formula, and first on the ingredient list because it is the largest single component.
- Kakadu plum — a native from the Top End, and one of the highest known natural sources of vitamin C in any fruit.
- Lilly pilly — an Australian rainforest fruit, high in antioxidants.
- Quandong — the desert peach. Grows wild through the arid inland.
- Jojoba oil — technically a liquid wax, structurally close to the skin's own sebum, which is why it conditions without sitting greasy.
Four Australian natives in a cleanser you rinse off after thirty seconds. We would rather tell you they are there than pretend they are doing more than they are.
How to use it
Half a teaspoon into clean hands. Massage over face and neck for thirty to sixty seconds, rinse with lukewarm water. Once a day is enough for most people — properly in the evening, water in the morning. Twice if you are taking off sunscreen or makeup. Then serum.
Before you buy
This is scented with real essential oils — lavender, sandalwood, mandarin, fragonia and cajeput — not synthetic fragrance. That is lovely if you like a botanical cleanser, and a genuine problem if you are sensitive to essential oils, which plenty of people are. Natural does not mean gentle. If that is you, patch test on the inner arm first.
What to expect
Skin that feels comfortable and slightly soft after washing, rather than squeaky. If you have spent years with a foaming cleanser, the first week feels like it has not done anything. That is the correct outcome — the tightness you were trained to look for was never evidence of clean skin.
